You know that moment when you KNOW its time to commit and just DO IT?!?!

That was me, Sunday night, as we wrapped up Easter Sunday and I found myself sitting on a tiny food baby after the delicious yet carb overload Italian dinner I enjoyed at my grandmothers.

Yes I am a health coach.

Yes I practice clean eating and portion control.

But sometimes SOMETIMES when faced with the opportunity to enjoy some childhood favorites…you just don’t say NO! And raviolis and meatballs rose to the occasion!

I enjoyed every moment and knew come Monday morning it was detox time!

And I was fortunate to have my hubs on board with me!

I have done this several times and have to say having my hubby on board this round totally helped!

The meal prep was a breeze, I didn’t have to worry about many temptations and we just adapted our meals with our kiddos meals each day!

He managed to drop 9 POUNDS in the 3 days (mind you he also put on 5 pounds Easter weekend! lol) and while I have no numbers with you to share – I lost the bloat and that was my #1 goal!!

My husband and I both noticed how our wedding rings were more lose which I attribute to the lack of gluten and other inflammatory known foods! Heck that alone is worth it!!!

How to survive the Holidays

Healthy Holiday tipsWhether its Easter or Christmas or vacations or Memorial day or Summer cookouts…a common question I get is how to survive the event/holiday WITHOUT totally derailing from current health and fitness progress.
And in my opinion there’s no cookie cutter answer.
Its what works for YOU but as chatted with some of my current challengers I decided it was probably best to aggregate everything into one place.

So here are my top tips:

The common every day “snag the convenience store” type of things get – SKIPPED. The oreos, hershey bars, jelly beans (come on – starburst jelly beans are out year round!!) – and YES even the Reese cup eggs because let’s be real…they’re pretty much the same as a reese cup and not that special anymore as you can get hearts at valentines day and trees at Christmas, etc…
Now – Grandma’s special cookies or pie or delicious mashed potatoes that you don’t have or don’t make yourself…that’s a different story!
Things that you ONLY get at a certain time of year are when I deem – necessary splurges!
2. Drink your SHAKEOLOGY before you head out to a big family meal/gathering
This way you don’t arrive STARVING and inhale everything in sight – half of which you probably didn’t/won’t care for anyways. Allow yourself to arrive and simply spend time with the company there. After all – isn’t that why you’re there?
3. Take a dish you know you’ll ENJOY and meets YOUR health goals…and NO I’m not talking about raw celery sticks.
You can make some pretty darn amazing appetizers and side dishes and main dishes that are as delicious tasting as they are for you!

When it comes to actual Easter Sunday, we will be practicing BALANCE. 
My mother in law makes THE BEST Monkey Bread (and no, there’s not a healthy lick to it) and we will balance that out with some scrambled eggs with veggies.
4. Enjoy the day – but don’t make it a weekend/week/month of it
Enjoying all your family favorites during Easter brunch or Christmas morning breakfast is a-okay…but you have to cut the sugar cycle. Sugar cycle
I won’t pretend like cutting the sugar cycle is easy – but sugar is one of those foods that the more you eat the more you want and even when you crash or get a headache from the influx of sugar your body is trying to process, your mind will often leave you with the feeling that you want/need MORE.

I think its safe to say SPRING HAS OFFICIALLY sprung!

The boots are packed away, winter coats stuffed to the back of the closets and the shorts, tanks, and rompers are making their debut!

I personally will be kickstarting my fitness with a 3-day refresh immediately following Eater as we launch our group! The 3-day refresh is a great option for you whether  you’re just getting started, trying to bust through a plateau or simply need a good challenge and change up.

Its plant based and allows you (me!) to kick the bloat from things that commonly bother me like the sugar and gluten that finds its way into all the Easter treats!

From there we will roll into a 90 day commitment.

Can you get results sooner? ABSOLUTELY! But I have lived and learned and I know it takes 21ish days to set the habits into place but more like 90 days to truly walk through the trenches of life and be able to come out on the other end ROCKING those goals and proud of the changes you’ve made!

In this group you’ll get ongoing accountability and motivation from me and I’ll help you understand the meal plans that come with your workout plan and how you can tweak the ideas and make them work for YOU!

You’ll see ideas – similar to my upcoming week below – and whether you use this same one – modify it a bit – or make your own – the point is – you do it…and I help you get there!

Words cannot explain how amazing it was to be at this event and reflect on what has changed in my life as a result of joining Beachbody just one year ago!!! From someone sitting in the audience  with an open mind simply learning 3 years ago – to someone who is able to take the stage and share and spread the word about a comapny with such an INCREDIBLE mission…it just never gets old!!!  Its an incredible feeling to have MY OWN team members travel to make the trip and to just be a part of something so big and so powerful… and I am forever grateful!

One decision I made when I left the event was to SHARE this opportunity with as many people as possible! Our role as a coach is to HELP others live a HEALTHIER more fulfilling life.

That’s not a trend – and its not going anywhere – and there are MILLIONS who need us!!!

Saucy & Sweet Meatloaf

I’ve never been one to go all fancy on my meatloaf but every now and then I get excited to try something new!

This meatloaf uses a “sauce mix” inside and on top of the meatloaf making it the perfect pair with last week’s cauliflower fried rice that we’ve been loving on!!!

  • 1 pound ground beef (or turkey)
  • 2 eggs
  • 1 onion, diced
  • 1 15oz can crushed tomatoes
  • 1 TBS fresh parsley
  • 1/2 tsp salt
  • 1/2 tsp pepper
  • 4 cloves minced garlic
  • 3 TBS golden craisins (I know – sounds weird – trust me on this one!!!)


  1. Preheat over to 475
  2. In medium sauce pan sautee 1/2 the garlic and onion for 2-3 minutes then add crushed tomatoes. Simmer 5 minutes
  3. Combine 3/4 cup of sauce with ground beef, eggs, parsley, salt, pepper, crasins & remaining garlic.
  4. Shape into a loaf on a foil lined baking dish and top with remaining sauce and bake for 30 – 35 minutes.

NOTE: Cook times will vary depending on the thickness of your loaf and your specific oven. Check frequently to make sure its cooking appropriately! 

We paired this with simple cauliflower fried rice and it was the most perfect combo with the carb craziness!

Take the leap perhaps you’ll FLY

On a recent trip through downtown, as we approached the noteworthy views of the Pittsburgh city skyline my daughter exclaimed “Look mommy your old work building” – and she turned to Colt and shared “Mommy used to work there but she didn’t get to see me very much”Maternity shot 2013 pregnant with Colt

And while that comment half tugged at my heart strings and left me filled with guilt – because I did in fact MISS the majority of her first two years of life – it also was a gentle reminder…to give gratitude that many years ago – I followed my heart.

I left my career behind with no back up plan so I could be a more present mom than I had been the two years prior and a just a year after that found this opportunity.

I didn’t realize it then but looking back I now BELIEVE this opportunity was INTENTIONALLY placed in front of me because this is where I am meant to be.

I was a working mom THEN and I am a working mom NOW…but its different.

The career of coaching was never something I sought.

I had no idea the term “network marketing company” even existed but that’s what I joined…I signed up and I have never looked back.

3 years in – and I am leading a top team in the entire COMPANY – grateful that I followed my heart.

I traded in my suit pants for yoga pants.

And while my rise and grind time still starts at 5am – my days look much different than they did a few years ago. 

It has taken many late nights and early mornings but I designed the life I love…

A life that led me to find a NEW FOUND passion in life

A life that allows me to continuously help others while always working on becoming a better version of myself

And a life that allows me to be PRESENT in the lives my family – of my children and with my husband.

I realize that this job isn’t for everyone but I learned a few years ago – that this glass slipper, or shall I say nike – FITS…so we roll with it.

Amongst the March Madness

It was 3 years ago today that I ***GULP*** made it public and launched my “coaching business” to the world 🌎

I made a public post on social media INVITING my friends and family and followers to join me in this journey…a journey that was shaping and impacting my life in ways I never imagined but absolutely LOVED at the same time!!!

It was a request to commit to:

The accountability of a challenge group.
To replace one meal a day with Shakeology.
And too follow a fitness program…and to track/document/see how it could IMPACT them!

It started with one person.
Then the next month two.
Then the next month more and more…

And as I continuously SHARED what I was doing and the pride I had sharing my experiences with other women-and other moms-it began to grow.

Planning my 4th and final PIYO week

I firmly believe in starting and finishing a workout program but I will quickly admit I have a bit of a workout program ADD.

So to adjust for my own balance I’ve been doing 4 week programs. Its enough for me to find my groove, keep some variety and then move on when I get too “comfortable” with the workouts. This is where the On Demand All Access is CLUTCH!!!

I completed the Masters Chisel program January/February (although my mono/bronchitis/ear infection issues caused the 4 weeks to span almost 7…) and I am in week 4 of 4 with PIYO with Core de Force up next as I countdown to our upcoming vacay to Punta Cana in April!

Here’s the workout outline and meal plan for this week

As you can see…I EAT with this plan…but its about the portions and frequency. I find having 5 smaller meals throughout the day keeps me consistently full and never STARVING nor over stuffed!

I do have some visitors this week which made having a PLAN ever more important.

And that’s exactly what this is – my GAME PLAN for the week. Can it change? Sure. And maybe we’ll swap the chicken and roast or my lunch one of the days but having a plan helps me get my groceries, waste less, and think less when dinner time rolls around!!!

I cook most food in bulk allowing for multiple meals and/or lunches.

Sunday I take some time to prep/chop/portion and do as much as I can.

For example – my peppers are chopped for my eggs, my berries are in one cup containers, the Turkey chili was prepped today, and the roast is already thawing in the crockpot along with a bag of carrots, potatoes and an onion so tomorrow I just pull from the fridge and plug in!

Maybe the cauliflower mash will be fried cauliflower. Turkey chili could easily be swapped for stuffed peppers…but again…its the PLAN that matters.

If you’re not used to meal planning or eating small frequent meals or eating “healthy” – it can be a challenge.
