Enter: MY DAILY BROWNIE BATTER PROTEIN BOWL

I’ve been enjoying these bowls for over 6 months now and its the most requested recipe on my social media and I am finally responding and putting it together for you!

What you need:

1️⃣1 scoop nutrient dense superfoods (I went with chocolate but honestly any flavor will do)
2️⃣1 scoop post workout recover protein (again…🍫🍫🍫)
3️⃣1 tbs-ish of your favorite nut butter (currently obsessed with costco mixed seed nut butter)
4️⃣ Collagen

Optional: chia seeds, flax seeds, granola, berries and/or bananas and other toppings

How I got started on my fitness journey

MY STORY

WHY I SAID YES TO PRIORITIZING MY HEALTH:

I get so many questions about how I got started on my fitness journey! I wanted to share it here so you can have it to read and save it for later when you need motivation. 

In February 2014 I found myself asking for prayers as we were rushed to Children’s Hospital holding tightly to VERY sick little boy.

My infant’s deteriorating health was dismissed as “a bad cold” before we got in to see HIS doctor who quickly sent us by ambulance to Children’s to get the best care.

We received his diagnosis: Pneomonia, double ear infection, bronchiolitis, and very high fevers. 

We spent two tiring nights there and while my little man attempted to get comfortable and rest I simply watched him. 

Sleep just wasn’t happening for me and eventually when he settled I grabbed the phone for a mindless midnight scroll. 

And there it was…

Colton, my son was 8.5 months old & I was still holding on to a few post baby pounds but more than anything I was EXHAUSTED 24/7 and at that moment I decided to stop wishing and start working.

It was JUST a virtual fitness group with a bunch of strangers at the time but what I learned in that group became a pivotal point in my life!!

HOW IT ALL BEGAN

So I went all in!

9 years ago I stood in my bedroom and handed my hubs my iPhone 4 to fulfill my coach’s request to submit my “goodbye” pics to gain access into her 21 day virtual BOOTCAMP….

That was me gearing up for my first online accountability group…and this is me NOW…

Ok to be honest this picture on the left was me on the second attempt.

The first set of pics I deleted…but my coach INSISTED I submit them, so I retook them the night before we started…

I had no idea what to expect.

Heck the term “challenge” group intimidated me enough as it was…

Those seemingly small containers scared me…

I thought weights would make me bulky…

And I had no desire to open up to a group filled with a bunch of “strangers”…

And I most definitely was not interested in posting anything on social or publicly for anyone to see 🤦‍♀️🤦‍♀️

All I knew at that time was that I was tired of being tired. 

I didn’t feel comfortable in my own skin and I was DETERMINED to set the example I wanted my growing kids to follow!

Gosh I was NOT going to quit on myself, not this time. 

My babies needed their mama at her best, and I needed to make some C H A N G E S

I was R E A D Y to make the sacrifices.

I had NO IDEA then where I would wind up today…

But I do know that the very first step I took towards joining that group was the one door that opened up all the other possibilities! 

During those first few days I was a fly on the wall in the group! I didn’t post anything, I didn’t ask anything and I quietly just tried to figure it all out. It was a change and it was hard. But on the 10th day, Fat Tuesday, I went off the walls. We had lunch at a Pizza Hut buffet and I ate all the things. All the pizza, all the breadsticks and all the dessert and I felt AWFUL. LITERALLY – not because I felt like I was cheating but my digestion was awful, I was bloated, and so uncomfortable and I thought to myself “why am I beating myself up with these workouts and investing this time and money into new habits if I’m going to undo the hard work”

And that’s the day it all shifted.

On the 11th day I posted to the group for the first time. I shared my failure and I shared what I was going to do the next day to make myself FEEL my best. I didn’t know anyone in the group but somehow that public proclamation was all I needed to stay on track, eat the food that fueled me, and continue through the program.

By the end of that 21 days I didn’t have to be asked for my Day 21 pictures. I was proudly setting up that iphone timer and sending them back over to my coach with pride.

Not because I was perfect the remaining 10 days but because I was showing up as my best self and gosh it FELT really amazing.

I finally felt like ME again for the first time – post entering motherhood – and I LIKED IT!


I got my confidence back.

My husband got his wife back

My kids got the energetic mama they deserved

And I knew this was something other women NEEDED and so I did the only thing that made sense…I BEGAN TO SHARE as I kicked off my own business as a BODi partner!

What Kinds of Workouts Can I Expect With Healthy Obsession?

For the first 3 weeks, you’ll work out 5 days a week for 60 minutes a day.

The 4th week is a functional recovery week when you’ll take down the pace and do just two 60-minute workouts.

During this functional recovery week, we lower the intensity in order to help you transition into whatever workouts you are tackling next.

3 optional bike rides that can be swapped in on your Cardio Fusion workouts.

Day 1: Total Body Core — Work your entire body using compound exercises (movements where you’re using more than one muscle group at a time) designed to challenge your core and maximize strength gains and calorie burn.

What is a “BODi Block”?

  2. Break the fatigue barrier

Your body needs to rest and recover for it to be able to grow. These blocks will help introduce the style of training.

You don’t need equipment for the cardio-dance intervals — just your body!
However, Andrea recommends using ankle weights and Resistance Loops for the sculpting work you’ll do throughout the program.


Feel free to use either a 2-pound or 3-pound set of ankle weights if you have them. And Andrea recommends the Green Resistance Loops.

There’s an equipment-free modifier in every workout, and you can also drop equipment during the workout if you need to decrease intensity, but using the ankle weights and Resistance Loops will help deliver deeper, more transformative muscle activation.

Peaches & Berry Mancake Bake

I started making mancake bakes when I FIRST started my health and wellness journey back in 2014 but it wasn’t until I did a gut health reset in March of 2022 that I brought them back in the regular meal plan rotation and they haven’t left since.

They’re a perfect combination of carbohydrates, protein, fruit, veggies and DELICIOUSNESS!

5 months of new varieties, repeating the favorites and trying new things!

I can honestly tell you I do not get tired of this breakfast and I hope you find it just as satisfying!

This is the recipe for my most recent bake:
PEACHES, STRAWBERRIES & ZUCCHINI MANCAKE BAKE

but at the end of this post I’ll share some switch ups.

WHAT YOU NEED:

  • 2 cups egg whites
  • 2 cups old fashioned oats (could use quick oats or any oats but I prefer the Sprouted Rolled Oats by One Degree organic foods)
  • 2 bananas
  • 1 large zucchini, sliced into chunks
  • 2-2.5 tsp cinnamon
  • 2 tsp vanilla
  • 1.5 cups peaches, diced
  • 1/2 cup strawberries, sliced
  • 9×13 pan lined with unbleached parchment paper
  • optional: nut butter, granola

WHAT YOU NEED TO DO:

  • Preheat oven to 350
  • Blend egg whites, oats, bananas, zucchini, cinnamon and vanilla
  • Pour into lined 9×13 pan
  • Add peaches evenly throughout the pan
  • Add sliced strawberries evenly throughout the pan
  • Bake 45-50 minutes until cooked thoroughly and sides begin to pull away from sides

Slice into 4 equal servings and store in fridge in an airtight container

Serve warm and top with nut butter and/or granola or serve cold and enjoy on the go!
For my portion fix friends: 1 red, 1/2 green, 1 purple, 1 yellow

Enjoy with First Thing for a full serving of greens to start your day!

This recipe is gut protocol friendly and extremely filling!

Other varieties:

  • Swap carrots for the zucchini
  • Add eggs for additional protein
  • Do 1/2 pound carrots and 1/2 zucchini
  • Use blueberries or raspberries instead of peaches
  • Leave out the berries all together
  • Top with peanut butter, mixed nut butter, honey or pure maple syrup!
  • Swap the berries for chocolate chips
  • Switch up the recipe to make it fit your nutrition needs, desires and goals!

4 Week Gut Protocol Results and Why I think EVERYONE should do this program

It was never about what we couldn’t eat…

But how good could we feel if we chose the foods that would allow us to feel our best & allow us to heal our gut…

and I am proud to say MISSION ACCOMPLISHED!!!

To be honest I am most proud of my husband for going all in, smiling for the daily post workout us-ie, helping me stick to the 5am rise and shine and being my partner in crime through all things LIFE!

Together we navigated 4 weeks:
