When I started to devote 30 minutes to daily exercise

It started with the commitment to a challenge group almost exactly 2 years ago today!
I decided I was ready for that change and I have never looked back and it has been my mission to help others experience what I have experienced – from the inside OUT!

This group is a private online support & accountability group where work together to find the right program to help you reach your goals.
Each participant is required to replace 1 meal a day with Shakeology.
My goal is to teach you BALANCE. How to choose the right foods in the right portions to FUEL you throughout the day. I will share various tips and tricks to help you stay motivated and on track to meet your goals!
Each day you will “check in” to the group. Some days include an action item, some are more food for thought, recipes, motivation etc… but the key is you hold yourself accountable to that daily report on your day! This is the key – this is where the results come into play!

Its easy to focus on the scale but I will be the first to say if that was my main focus I would have quit a long time ago.
I looked it a few different ways.
I challenged my body.
I tried new things.
I failed forward.
And we celebrated the small successes along the way!
Yes, I’ll be up front and share that GAINED 3 pounds on this program. Did I want to gain 3 pounds? Nope, not exactly. But let’s be real here…muscle is dense my friends! When you build muscle and cut the fat that number may be a bit higher!! Besides – my hubby is enjoying the 3 pound gain and solid booty and it is my role to keep him happy right?!
After some reinforcement from my hubby – I did learn to switch my focus to the other gains.
I gained stregnth, endurance, balance, discipline and 60 early morning dates with my hubby.
I have flaws. I have room for improvement but my goodness this body carried and delivered two beautiful babies.
My nutrition was far from perfect (I am such a cookie monster!!!) and I know I let my travels and other things set me back but hey – progress is progress right!!!
I am healthy and I just completed a 60 day RIGOROUS training program. I am proud!
These other gains, my friends, far outweigh the scale increase any day!
Besides, having a program to complete TOGETHER with my husband was so much fun and a huge key to my success (yes, I am calling my 3 pound weight gain a success).
Not only did I have my incredible hubby cheering me on daily but my challengers kept me in tune and in CHECK! I know I couldn’t have done it with out them all!!!
But the fitness journey has no end destination!
Its full Cruise*Countdown mode in our house as we prepare for a journey to the Caribbean on a trip we earned through Beachbody – We are not stopping here!

I’ll be the first to say – my WHY I life changes as my life changes
When I first signed up to be a Beachbody Coach – my WHY – was because I needed the discount and I needed to save some money money money!!! And becoming a coach gave me a discount on the products I already loved and truly needed in my life to help me overcome my Chrons Disease, have more energy to be with my kids and all around be a happier, healthier person.

In time I began to realize I had something pretty darn POWERFUL at my fingertips. So I just kept sharing. With EVERYONE. EVERYWHERE I could…PASSIONATELY. And in time I created this business – working from home while still holding my title tight as a Stay At Home Mom but I was adding a new title to the mix – I was becoming a MOMpreneur!
I won’t pretend that this is a perfect fit for everyone but in my opinion, it did give me the best of both worlds!!
In less than 2 years I have been able to improve not only my own Health & Fitness – but the overall health of my husband, my parents, my inlaws, my siblings and HUNDREDS – yes literally HUNDREDS of others while simultaneously contributiing financially to our household. It started small at first with the monthly groceries…and soon I was able to cover those and my student loan payments – a few weeks later I added on my car payment and a few months later I added my mortgage as well. Its still a bit mind blowing at times – but it is reality!

I have been able to help other families pay for their monthly groceries – pay off their school loans – pay down and eventually OFF credit card debt – and bring other moms HOME to be with their babies too!

Ahhh I can’t believe this weekend is finally here!
There’s been a lot of prep going on the background for months but our Beachbody Super Friday weekend has arrived and I have butterflies just thinking about all to come!
We have a jam packed agenda Friday night and a heck of a lot of recognition to endure as we have the Top Coach in all of Beachbody along with a 2x Top 10 coach, our CEO – Carl Daikeler and Celebrity Trainer Autumn Calabrease. And to cap the night we’ll be enjoying a live mashup by none other than Master Trainer Kam Niskach.
Its been such an honor being part of the Pittsburgh Market Council and being involved with all the planning and coordinating behind such a huge event!
We are sold out, leading the event in one of the most amazing places in Downtown Pittsburgh and I know we will not disappoint!
And while this excitement is swirling around in my head I am flashing back to last year’s event – one where I arrived as a star diamond coach with my hubby and just one coach on my team, my bestie.
Fast forward this year – I have coaches coming in from all across PA, OH, NC and even Canada! Wow – That little compound effect is amazing.

Sometimes I can’t believe it myself – but its true and YOU too can experience all the fun, excitement and fulfillment! Yes I work hard, I work a non-conventional job, and I make sacrifices but the benefits of those sacrifices far outweigh the rest!

My husband and I are 4.5 weeks into Hammer and Chisel and all I can say is WE DID IT!!!!
With the new release of the workout program The Masters: Hammer & Chisel on December 1st I was beyond tempted to “start in the new year”…however my very excited hubby said he was ready for a change and ready to go and since I am all too familiar with the power of an accountability partner, I couldn’t let him go at it alone!!!
A very simple clean, crockpot roast
So we decided we would start, do the best we could but still enjoy the holidays…aka EAT THE COOKIES, enjoy the parties and control the controllable!
And through 5 birthday parties, countless holiday get togethers, NYE and all that in between I am happy to say WE MADE IT!
Am I where I want to be?!
Well, no, not exactly.
But am happy with the progress?
Absolutely!
Even though I gained 2 pounds I lost 2 inches – which goes to show you this program can help you gain LEAN muscle!
I have been using the Beachbody Performance Line – ENERGIZE (pre workout) and RECOVER (post workout) daily which have been KEY in helping me get the most of out each workout and reduce muscle soreness. In addition I haven’t missed a day of my SHAKEOLOGY! Nutrition is key and while the holiday indulgences were there Shakeology played a huge role in making sure they didn’t get out of control, especially during the baking days!!! For less than $4/meal you can’t beat that dense superfood nutrition!!!
The workouts are challenging and I KNOW the incredible results are coming but in all honesty – my nutrition wasn’t where it needs to be to get jaw-dropping results – but to make progress at a time when most Americans are gaining 7-10 pounds – I’LL TAKE IT!!!
I am getting stronger. My weights have increased and the 12 pounders that were collecting dust are now being tossed around with ease. One simple non-scale victory that helps reassure me – THIS PROGRAM IS WORKING!!!
And while the holidays are over our busy lives are here to stay. As I look forward to the second half of this program I see our upcoming Beachbody weekend in the ‘Burgh – an entire weekend away from home and then two weeks later I’ll be off to LA for a Leadership conference.

I still feel a bit of a shock when I think of how my life has changed since Beachbody entered our world. An opportunity that seemed so small to me at the time has since provided my family with opportunities we could have only dreamed of!!!
A business that allows me to work on my time – to be home with my children while helping other moms build their business to be home with their children too! I have helped families put food on the table, helped others pay down their debt and as much as its given me this avenue to help transform people from the outside – I’ve been able to watch them transform on the inside too!

There’s nothing like walking into the house at dinner time with this on the table….
Ok – well maybe it didn’t look quite like that and more like…
Hey may be a bit messy but he is GOOD!
Nonetheless – my hubby whipped up this incredible, clean, chicken tortilla soup adapted from the FIXATE cookbook and I am excited to share the recipe with you!
WHAT YOU NEED:
8 – 6″ corn tortillas
2 tsp olive oil
1/2 cup chopped onion
2 cups sliced celery
4 medium tomatoes
6 cups low sodium chicken broth
3 cups cooked chicken, shredded (Leftover salsa chicken works great!)
1 1/2 cups sliced carrots
1 tsp sea salt
1/2 tsp ground pepper
1 tsp chili powder
1/2 medium avocado
1/4 cup chopped fresh cilantro
4 tsp crumbled feta cheese
WHAT YOU NEED TO DO:
Preheat oven to 350
Line large baking sheet with parchment paper
Bake tortillas for 8-10 minutes on baking sheet, cool and break into pieces
Heat oil in large saucepan over medium heat
Add onion and celery, cook for approximately 5 minutes
Add garlic and cook for an additional 1 minute
Add tomatoes , cook for an additional 5 minutes until soft
Combine: onion mixture, 2 cups broth and HALF of the toasted tortillas into food processor and BLEND until smooth
Add mixture into large saucepan. Add remaining 4 cups brother, chicken, carrots and seasonings. Bring to a boil and cook on low approximately 10 minutes until carrots are tender.
Top each serving evenly with avocado, cilantro, cheese and remaining tortilla soup

If you’ve been following my Hammer & Chisel journey you may have noticed that week 3 kicked off with SEVERAL planned meals out – I mean its the holidays – tis the season right?!?!
Of course – but that doesn’t mean you can’t make some progress along the way too!!!
We have had some holiday celebrations, my dad’s birthday dinner and just some time out with friends and family! But here’s the deal – I do believe you can have your cake and eat it too!
Each day I’ve been “picking my splurge” whether its the meal or dessert I pick one and do my best on the other options. I have found making that healthier choice doesn’t leave me feeling deprived but rather proud that I am doing something to better myself!
We even had a day date christmas shopping trip in the mix and at the suggestion of my hubs we packed all our meals – yup – snack 1, lunch and snack 2. Mancake bake, grilled asparagus and salmon burgers, some fruit, shakeo and plenty to drink! Hydration is key!!!
And in between running from place to place we would sneak in those meals, fuel up and get on our way! I tend to get HANGRY while shopping and often don’t want to take the time out to eat when I’m on a mission and this made it work out for everyone involved!!!
My sis came to visit which gave me that much more of a REASON – not an EXCUSE to stay on track – we simply made it something we would do TOGETHER! Family fitness is just one of the many things that fills my cup — I think she’s hooked for sure!
The holiday season is tough – don’t get me wrong. And the temptations are everywhere but not impossible to survive by any means!!!
