I was not a nutritionist and I am still learning something new every day.
I was not at my goal weight and somedays I am at it and others not so much…its a journey.

I never wanted to be called a “sales person”

I am coming up on my 3 year anniversary of participating and then hosting online Fitness challenges and I can tell you first hand it has spoken VOLUMES in my personal Health & Wellness journey. I honestly don’t know where I would be if I had stopped after that first round of the 21-day fix back in 2014…or heck even after a year. ACCOUNTABILITY IS KEY!
I was able to get to the point where I could carve out that 30 minute and time for myself – but controlling what was on my plate – going in my body -the other 23.5 hours of the day is where I realized THE STRUGGLE IS REAL.

FITNESS:

NUTRITION:
I have shared this simplified meal plan with my participants and I will walk them through how I plan out my meals, how the prep all goes down and how I maximize on those leftovers.
I think its safe to say we are ALL BUSY:
Working mom, stay at home mom, dog mom, pinterest mom, amazon mom, entrepreneurs, corporate ladder climbers, etc..
We are all BUSY – but learning how to effectively PLAN out and PREPARE for the week ahead is CLUTCH!
And the final piece comes in ACTIONS and less words.
SUPPORT:
Its the accountability – knowing that there is a group of other people right there along side you – learning as you go – trying, failing, and moving forward.
Its hard to explain it to you-but I can SHOW you first hand the power it holds!

Time Hop reminded me that around this same time – 3 Years ago today I was asking for prayers as we were rushed to Children’s Hospital holding tightly to VERY sick little boy.
Now: You may be thinking: Soooooo: What does this have in common with the title “What is a Challenge Group: Live Look” – keep reading – there’s a connection I PROMISE!
That day was a WHIRLWIND!
Colt’s deteriorating health was dismissed as “a bad cold” before we got in to see HIS doctor the following day who quickly sent us by ambulance to Children’s Hospital in Pittsburgh to ensure he got the best care.
We received his diagnosis: Pneomonia, double ear infection, bronchiolitis, and very high fevers.
We spent two tiring nights there and while my little man attempted to get comfortable and rest I simply watched him.
Sleep just wasn’t happening for me and eventually when he settled I grabbed the phone for a mindless midnight scroll.
And there it was…

If you had told me 3 years ago – as I frantically attempted to figure out how to be a SAHM mom to a demanding 2 year old who stopped napping and a newborn who threw up every meal he ate and NEVER…. I mean NEVER slept – that I would just up and start a work from home business around helping other people from laptop…I would have LAUGHED in your face and then sent you to the looney bin.
It just wasn’t in the cards for me.
I was “BUSY”
But here’s the thing…we are all busy.
And we all make time for the things that MATTER – that IMPACT us.
I fell IN LOVE with it all.
Quickly.
With the amazing support from my fellow challengers.
With the family aspect of this team I joined.
With the confidence I was GAINING each and every single day.
I had a purpose again…beyond my role as MOM….
I was HELPING others the same WAY I was helped. And it felt good.
So it didn’t become a question of if I had time.
The question was – How can I make TIME?
And you know what – I FIGURED IT OUT.
I didn’t work in an office.
No two days were the same.
I didn’t have 9-5 hours.
BUT I MADE IT WORK.
Trial and Error.
Failing forward.
Making sacrifices.
I made it work – because I wanted it to work for me!!!
And if you want to make it work – I PROMISE you – you can.
And I can TEACH you exactly what I did and the systems I have put in place as I teach my TEAM as we continue to grow and change the lives of others every single day.

My mom has always made the BEST salmon cakes and its been one of those things I’ve left up to her. You know the thing you don’t want to mess with but you quickly suggest when going for a visit.
But after completing WHOLE 30 a few months ago I’ve got a little more creative and daring in the kitchen & I decided to put my big girl pants on and with some guidance over the phone I knocked out some killer salmon cakes:
WHAT YOU NEED:
-5-5oz packets of wild-caught salmon (boneless) – (Note: cans are fine as well I just liked the ease of the little packets)
-2 eggs
-1 medium sweet potato, baked
-3/4 cup almond or coconut flour (I prefer almond)
-2 TBS old bay (give or take depending on how spicy you like it)
-4 gloves minced garlic
-1/2 onion, chopped
-Juice of 1 lemon
WHAT YOU NEED TO DO:
-Preheat the oven to 425 degrees F
– Line baking pan with parchment paper
– Combine all ingredients until mixed thoroughly
-Scoop cakes and drop onto lined baking dish – I found the LARGE pampered chef cookie scoop is the easiest to get uniform sized cakes, then I flatten with a cup. Could also use 1/4 measuring cup
I recently completed a round of Whole 30 paired with Core De Force and I can truly say I found my JAM! I found what works for me – what I enjoy – and what makes me FEEL good on the inside!!!

When I started Whole 30 in October 2016 I quickly browsed the cookbook and picked my top dinner choices. I can’t give an exact reason why but the ingredients were purchased on my first Whole 30 shopping trip – yet it took me more than two months to actually make this dish!
Lesson learned – next time don’t be afraid to try something new.
This was DELICIOUS – and just so different from our typical “week night meals”.
In my mind I think I assumed that it was more complicated than it looked…but trust me when I say…if I can make this– ANYONE CAN!!!
(adapted from the WHOLE 30 Book)
WHAT YOU NEED:
1 pound pork tenderloin
2 TBS mustard powder
1 TBS paprika
1 TBS onion powder
1 TBS garlic powder
1.5 tsp salt
1.5 tsp pepper
1/2 cup chopped walnuts
WHAT YOU NEED TO DO:
Remove pork from the refrigerator about 30 minutes before cooking
Preheat oven to 375 degrees F.
Pat the pork dry with a paper towel
Mix the mustard powder, garlic powder, onion powder, salt, pepper and paprikain a small bowl and rub the pork evenly with seasoning mixture.
In a food processor (the mini handheld pampered chef one works great!!!) – or by hand – pulse or chop the walnuts until finely chopped.
Coat the pork evenlywith the chopped walnuts.
Place the pork tenderloin in a baking pan ( I used a 7″x11″ pyrex dish and it worked perfectly!) and roast 25-30 minutes or until the internal temperature reaches 145 degrees F.
Let the pork rest for 10 minutes.
Slice the tenderloin into 1/2 inch thick medallions.
Serve with your veggie of choice and more importantly ENJOY!!!
NOTE: I doubled this recipe (as I do with most recipes to ease the meal prep later in the week!!!) and I will vouch the leftovers were just as amazing as night 1!

Taking the stage for the second year in a row as a 2x Elite Leader – and more importantly FULFILLED – accomplished – MOM & WIFE
What does it all mean?
Let me debrief for you as I, myself, continue to wrap my head around this last week of excitement…
Last Thursday I received the official call from Beachbody Corporate – congratulating my INCREDIBLE – driven – dedicated – lead-with-their-heart TEAM on achieving ELITE for 2016.
I know to some its just a word – but to me – it means that the process I have created for helping other men & women get started on their health & fitness journey’s is being duplicated – and duplicated again and again as the leaders who make up this team pour their heart into serving others.
This was a goal I set for my team this year and it was amazing to be ONE of the 210 teams in the ENTIRE network (of over 400K+ coaches) who reached this benchmark!!!
We have many women who are continuously giving their time to serve others but these are the KEY LEADERS who made achieving this – ELITE – status come full circle for my One. Fit. Fam.
I feel its important to share that this achievement means that I am not just creating and building my own business – but I am creating a business that others want to be a part of – that others want to build too – so that they can achieve their personal & professional business goals and continue working towards a common goal.
I’ve always said: TOGETHER WE ARE STRONGER and these are the moments where this holds true more than ever.
But that was just the start of the weekend…
The workout clothes were traded in for a cocktail dress and sparkly shoes as we set forth to kick off the January 2017 Super Friday event!!!
I am part of the Pittsburgh Market Council that plans our local events and this one was a big one.
Not only did we have an incredible venue booked with my own team’s success to celebrate but we had our CEO, Carl Daikeler coming to town to celebrate the 3x top coach accomplishment for Melanie Mitro and the #2 Master Trainer Kam Niskach.
It takes an army to put on these events and its truly an honor to be able to work with this team to make it happen!!!

To celebrate the ELITE accomplishment of all the local coaches, a compilation of the congratulatory calls was put together and shared during our Super Friday event.
Needless to say I was brought to tears!
So much of what I do as a coach stems from my desire to be at home wtih my kids and also still contributing financially to my family while living out my passion and living my life WITH PURPOSE.
This career as a coach has allowed me so many experiences & opportunities and has taught me invaluable life lessons…and it was fitting to have my kids on my lap when I received that phone call!
Our night closed out with my team, in our PJs, in my hotel room as we chatted the night away, shared stories and prepared for day #2!
STRONG WOMEN LIFT EACH OTHER UP
I was blessed to be amongst this incredible group of leaders with a slot to share some of my tips and tricks for taking ACTION towards your goals!
We met early in the morning – we did our run through – and we simply SUPPORT each other.
Some of these women are my mentors – some are those I simply admire and all of them are women i am INSPIRED by on a daily basis.
When it was time to take the stage I was nervous, slightly emotional from simply being MOVED by the story I just heard but excited to shake it and go for it!
It was time to share some of MY STORY.
I got to share how I started my business using little pockets of my day…how I started MAKING time to build my business and SACRIFICED things to make it happen!
My kids were little
I was still adjusting to the stay-at-home-#momlife of two
And just like that I decided to add COACH to my title…and I went all in and never looked back!!
I had no idea then…where I would be now.
But I trusted the process.
Had faith in my mentors.
And confidence that if I kept doing all the small things daily the compound effect prove its worth.
If you would have told me taking the stage would come with this territory I would have ran the other way!
But today I stand proud that I have learned to take chances!
With every opportunity I learn and stretch outside those comfort zones and in turn GROW!!!
Here’s to 2017—continued growth-fearlessness-and opportunities!!!
