And every sacrifice was well worth it to spend 4 days at a beautiful resort in sunny So Cal with my husband, my coach, some of the most uplifting women I know along with some of the most AMAZING leaders in this Beachbody Business receiving EXCLUSIVE training opportunties and insights into where this incredible company is headed!!!

So…what is LEADERSHIP? 

Leadership is an exclusive retreat and training opportunity set aside for only the best of the best. There are specific qualifications which left nearly 300 coaches qualifying this year – out of a network of over 400,000. To say I felt “special” is an understatement!

We were spoiled with amazing gifts, Live workouts, sneak peeks into the new programs, elite training, fancy dinners, a photoshoot, and several opportunities to mix and mingle with the celebrity trainers.

 

But it was more than just the frills and time away with my husband and great friends. There’s a point to it all!!!

Its a REWARD.

The nutrition plan is SIMILAR to that of other Beachbody Portion Fix systems but don’t think its the same old same old – the containers are there, but you don’t have to use them…and there’s some twists and turns as you progress through the 30 days!!!

Here’s a glimpse into the MMA speed workout from Day 1:

And don’t worry if you’re thinking the combo moves look a little tricky…we all look like baby giraffes learning to walk at first but you will quickly find your rhythm!!

But its not all kicks and punches either! You will be building your strength (no equipment necessary!!) with workouts like this one we did on Day 2:

The workouts are great – amazing in fact. Day 2 was quite possibly one of the most CHALLENGING workouts I’ve ever completed…but like all fitness “programs” the results are driven not just by how hard you hit the sweat session but what you fuel your body with.

The nutrition guide breaks it down to 4 plan options: A, B, C or D.

Step 1 is to Figure out your Caloric needs:21-day-fix-target-calorie-calculator

Once you know your plan for calories you can check out how many servings of each container you get to eat per day.  

Like I mentioned previously – the brackets can be correlated to the Portion Fix color coordinated containers – OR – you can use the measurements provided in the guide!

My calculations land me in Plan A – which equates to: 

3 GREENS (veggies), 2 PURPLES (fruit), 4 REDS (protein), 2 YELLOWS (carbs), 1 BLUE  (healthy fat), 1 ORANGE (seeds and dressings) & 2 SPOONS  (oils, nut butter)

This eating plan is all about a balanced approach to nutrition with each plan working out to be about 40% carbs, 30% proteins and 30% fats.

But the key is to PLAN & PREP!!!

This is where so many people fall short.

You purchase the program, you figure things out – but you have to…I repeat YOU HAVE TO MAKE A PLAN for your meals.

A sample day for someone who falls into the PLAN A category like me would look something like the following?

Breakfast:  2 Eggs with peppers and spinach, 1 piece of toast (red, yellow, green)

Snack 1:  Shakeology with banana & peanut butter (1 red, 1 purple, 1 spoon)

Lunch:  Turkey and sweet potato hash (1 red, 1 green, 1 yellow)

Snack 2:  Apple with cashews (1 purple, 1 blue) 

Dinner:  Salmon burger with asparagus, cooked with olive oil (1 red, 1 green 1 spoon)

Here’s a full week PLAN A Meal Plan as an example:

*NOTE: The plan does change slightly as you progress through your 30 days. As the workouts increase in intensity you will be adding in more foods in weeks 2 and 3 and going back to the orignal plan in week 4. Don’t worry – the step by step is ALL outlined in the nutrition guide! This is just part of helping YOU optimize YOUR RESULTS!

I am personally following a MODIFIED Whole 30 Meal plan along with my 30 Day journey with Core De Force. Here’s how I have updated my meals and scheduled throughout my day.

So you have your challenge pack with your workout program and Shakeology and the meals are ON POINT…but you have to also remember WATER. This is something I stress to my clients DAILY throughout our online accountability group! 

If you’re not used to eating small(er) meals spaced out – OR – if you’re used to grazing all day long you may not be getting adequate water in.

You should aim to drink at least half your body weight in ounces. This is key – especially when starting something new!!!

The last thing, and perhaps most importantly thing to decide is to COMMIT.

Honey Lime Crockpot Chicken

When your days are busy and your nights are busy – you don’t want to spend the evening cooking. And, well, quite frankly, you likely don’t HAVE the TIME to spend the evening cooking!

We’ve been rocking the crockpot meals and this one was a HUGE hit and nice change up from the traditional SALSA CHICKEN.

WHAT YOU NEED:

  • 2lbs fresh or frozen chicken breasts
  • Juice of 3 limes ~ roughly 1/2 cup
  • 1/3 cup honey
  • 1 TBS freshly minced garlic
  • 1/2 diced onion
  • 1 cup + salsa verde chicken
  • 1 TBS taco seasoning (I LOVE the wildtree brand but whatever you choose will work!)
  • Salt & Pepper to taste

Optional:

  • Avocado
  • Shredded Cheese
  • Lettuce/Spinach
  • Greek Yogurt/Sour cream
  • Tortillas
  • Tortilla chips
  • Crockpot liner
  • Rice/Quinoa

WHAT YOU NEED TO DO:

  1. Line crockpot with liner or spray with nonstick spray
  2. Combine all ingredients and cook on low 7-8 hours
  3. Shred chicken and return to crockpot 20-30 minutes while preparing the remaining ingredients.
  4. Serve*** and ENJOY!

 

***We enjoyed this dinner solo, over a bed of spinach and lettuce combined topped with avocados and extra salsa, as a taco salad and as loaded nachos! The options are LIMITLESS with so much variety! The choice is YOURS!!!

NOTE: This is the most perfect dinner to PREP the night before and simply plug in in the morning!!!

I LOVE finding ways to CLEAN UP old favorites in a way to enjoy – without feeling gross after the fact.

This was PERFECT.

We simply utilized some of the prior week’s leftovers to come up with one heck of a mouth watering Game Day snack!!

(serves 2)

What you need:

  • 2 Cups Unstuffed Pepper Soup 
  • 12-15 Tortilla chips
  • 1/2 Avocado
  • Jalopenos – lots and lots of jalopenos
  • Extra Napkins!!!

What to do:

Layer up the goodness (warm up the soup if you’re using leftovers like me!!) go to town, prepare to get messy and ENJOY!

NOTE: I prepared this using leftover unstuffed pepper soup. You could always make fresh! I wanted to include as many veggies as possible while still enjoying this delicious family favorite! It was a total win in our book and a great way to watch the kickoff on a beautiful Fall Sunday afternoon! 

For my Portion Fix fans: I counted as one YELLOW, one RED, one BLUE and 1/2 a GREEN. I popped a few pieces of broccoli to round out a full green serving!

Unstuffed Pepper Soup – Crockpot Style

2016-10-05 17.50.26.jpgWe were faced with 2 pounds of beef, some peppers, onions and no time to prep & bake stuffed peppers…so we went the unconventional route – and UNstuffed them!

Prep Time: 5 minutes

Cook Time: 20 minutes

WHAT YOU NEED:

  • 2 pounds ground beef/turkey
  • 3 peppers, chopped
  • 2 onions, chopped
  • 2 cups kale, chopped
  • 1 can diced tomatoes (drained, no sugar added)
  • 1 can tomato sauce (no sugar added!!)
  • 4-5 gloves garlic, chopped
  • 1 TBS olive oil

WHAT YOU NEED TO DO:

  1. Heat oil over medium heat in LARGE saucepan
  2. Add onions and garlic sautéing for 3-4 minutes.
  3. Add peppers and continue cooking another 3-4 minutes
  4. Move peppers and onions to the side add beef. Cook about 8 minutes or until thoroughly browned.
  5. Drain mixture and dump back into pan.
  6. Add tomatoes and sauce and cook on high about 3 minutes until boiling. Add chopped kale and wahlaaa – YOU’RE FINISHED!
  7. Now – this would be ready to eat as is – but we were on our way out for a busy afternoon…so I prepped it all and tossed it in a LINED (with a Reynolds Slow Cooker liner) and kept it on warm for 6 hours.

It was piping hot when we were ready to eat and the flavors were DIVINE!

***Portion Fix containers: 1.5 cups = 1 RED and 1 GREEN

I strategically planned this recipe such that there are 8 reds and 8 greens in the mix! I wanted stuffed peppers without any “yellows” and this did the trick!

So starting October 3rd – on the day of my 31st birthday I am making a commitment. 

I am LAUNCHING my own little virtual 3-week retreat for EACH and EVERY ONE OF YOU! 

Where I not only focus on my fitness and my nutrition but also my mind. 

I am going to combine a 3 week beginners yoga program with clean, basic nutrition and continue my MIRACLE MORNING practices.

WHAT TO EXPECT:

We will be using the Beachbody Challenge Tracker app for our group. This app works on all android and iOs devices and will be our “home base” for the challenge. My groups are limited to my customers so please make sure you fill out the application below OR  Email me about becoming my customer so that you can get included in the group* 

If you do not have a coach make me your coach by completing this application

Our group will run 3 weeks: Wk of 10/3, 10/10, and 10/17.

My goals are to introduce you to Yoga/share ways to incorporate and cross train with Yoga, help/improve overall nutrition, and provide a supportive network of women to EMPOWER one another to be the best YOU!

Each participant will ENROLL in the a trial CLUB membership no later than October 3rd in order to access the  FREE Yoga Retreat program. Once you have started your 30 day trial I will use your email address provided to add you into our private group!

Team Retreat in Destin – RECAP

I have just returned home after a 5 day trip for our Team’s Retreat in Destin Florida and I am filled with so many emotions!!!

So many amazing takeaways from this trip and while I want to run, put my blinders on and get to work, I also need to take a moment to reflect on this incredible getaway!!!

 

I have hosted my own for my team and this is the second retreat I have attended with my upline sponsor coach and I cannot say enough POSITIVE things about the after math of attending something like this!

Be sweet on the inside!!!

We had our team there filling one house on the Beach and together with the other Dream Team Coaches – we filled 5 mansions in Destin Florida with 10+ Elite coaches in the network led by our fearless leader, the #1 Coach in all of Beachbody.

There were corporate led trainings, team led trainings, small group breakouts, parties, fun, dancing, dinners, group workouts, late night chat sessions, and more!

You could say it was a bit of a powerhouse event!

I’ve heard so many women say they don’t have girlfriends and they get along better with men and that is sad to me, because when confident, happy, secure women come together in friendship, amazing things happen!!!

I’ll admit I got a bit anxious leading up to the event. I mean 14 girls in one house – PLUS – over 100 girls coming together for games and trainings…its a lot to take in!!!

But I know the importance of events.

And as expected, I walked away from this event with new friendships, stronger bonds, and perhaps a 6 pack in the making from all the laughter!

I want to share a bit with you all so you can understand that this wasn’t just an opportunity to unplug and soak up some rays…but rather an opportunity TO GROW our businesses, our confidence, and improve the overall quality of our LIVES!

I arrived on Wednesday evening and Thursday kicked off our Team’s trip!

Then naturally we took things to beach to get started!

We got sweaty, had some fun, then got to the beach!

This was our one FREE day…and I took full advantage of it!

Miracle Morning

I’ve been preparing for my upcoming Miracle Morning accountability group and this was the perfect setting to dive in and get to practicing what I was about to be preaching!!!

Friday night we got together with the other 5 houses and together, 125 Beachbody Leaders strong, we competed in the BEACH OLYMPICS!

I’m not sure I ever laughed so hard!

From crab crawls in the sand, to wheelbarrow races, to 3-legged races, to running with a pineapple on my head – this was hands down one of the most fun nights of my LIFE!

Our team may not have one the trophy but we did win with the most laughs!!! #TeamPurple rocked it for sure!

Saturday it was time to Learn!!! From 9-5 we heard from some of the top leaders at Corporate and the top leaders in the company.

From social media trainings, to recruiting, to creating independent leaders, to creating a powerful vision, to leading with a PURPOSE, to learning how to JUST BE YOU and lead from the heart with the goals and impact you have on others in the heart of what we do!

Things slowed down as we wrapped up our training session, regrouped, then headed out for margaritas and tacos! Because what group of women doesn’t like margaritas and tacos?!?!

There were many moments of reflection and many moments where I just had to stop and pinch myself.

This is my life.

This is my career.

These are the women and people I CHOOSE to spend my time with.

And EMPOWER me to be the best mom, friend, wife, coach, sister and daughter possible!

The trip was perfect.
I am grateful for the generosity of my coach and grateful for the team bonding we all enjoyed!

I know I say this a LOT.

But its true.

This career. this opportunity, has BLESSED me more ways than I ever imagined!
